A little over a year ago, I walked the ruins, then hopped the train back to Naples to go to the museum there & see Pompeii exhibit. They have many of the better mozaics & of course the “Secret Room.”
Suggestion – I had read the Rick Steve’s travel guide & he recommended not to go for the cheapest audio guide at the gate as it was a waste of maybe 10 euros. I thought how bad could it be!? Well…trust me when I tell you AWFUL! Splurge & get the more pricey ones (you could even trade them in at the end & get credit towards a DVD) or even better — hire a real life personal guide!
